Bizen ware 1961-

Traditional craftsman

I was born in Bizen, the "home of pottery", and after training in Kyoto, I became an independent potter in my hometown. I make Bizen ware by firing in a climbing kiln. My works include Hidasuki which has patterns fired with natural leaves and autumn leaves, Ao Bizen, and Yosai, which has scarlet patterns that appear by using charcoal gas during firing. I hope you will enjoy the changes in the clay from nature.
